Sarah Jane INGRAM child of 13

1843 Sarah Jane age 9 with parents and two siblings arrive New Orleans to St. Louis where parents die. 1848/1849 Unidentified wagon train.  Orphans Sarah Jane age 13 siblings Fanny and Richard traveling with uncle and aunt Richard and Mary Griffiths. Mary died on the way.

Jane Caldwell the third wife of Simeon Adams DUNN.

Jane Caldwell's second husband Eli Brazee Kelsey had left on a mission from Nauvoo when he did not return he was thought dead. Jane needing help crossing the plains with her children so she married Simeon Adams DUNN they had one child. When Eli Kelsey showed up again at Winter Quarters Jane left Simeon and took their son Joseph Moroni Dunn with her. Joseph never knew his father until he was grown and married at that time Simeon contacted Joseph asking for help in caring for Simeon's younger children so he could serve a mission. Joseph Moroni Dunn and his wife Susanna Elizabeth White went to from Brigham City cared for and became a part of the Dunn family at that time.

Daniel William SMITH and Sarah WOODING

Sarah Wooding married Daniel William Smith, son on William Smith and Elizabeth Longhurst on 10 July 1815, a businessman, who was of course, below her station in life, so her father disowned her. Sarah and Daniel Wooding accepted Mormonism among the first few saints taught by Mormon Elders in London among whom was Lorenzo snow. They made preparations to come to America. Lord James Wooding, on learning of their conversion, disinherited Sarah as well.

Daniel and Sarah sailed for America with Samuel's family and Jane Louisa and 2 younger children on the Ship Swanton on 16 Jan 1843 under the leadership of Lorenzo Snow, landed in New Orleans, then up the Mississippi River to Nauvoo.

Shortly after Sarah and Daniel and family were baptized, Jane Louisa became very ill and they feared for her life. The doctor came and did what he could, but said she could not live. Sarah's son Samuel came to see his sister. He told his father to clear the room of unbelievers, and they holding the Priesthood of God administered to Jane and were directed to promise her life, health, and strength. The recovery of her daughter strengthened Sarah's testimony as well as other members of the family.

To was great for Sarah and her family to become acquainted with the Prophet Joseph Smith and the other Church leaders. She was proud to have her husband Daniel, advanced thru the Priesthood to the office of a High Priest. They grieved with the rest when their beloved Prophet and his brother Hyrum were killed in June of 1844. It was Sept. 1845 when Sarah was called upon to bury her own dear husband. He died near Nauvoo where they were living.

Moses QUIMBY was the father of - Mormon Pioneer Betsey QUIMBY ROUNDY and her husband Shadrach ROUNDY (See D&C 124:141) they were the parents of - Samantha ROUNDY PARKER (little grandma) and Almeda Sophia ROUNDY PARKER (Big Grandma) who were the wives of John Davis PARKER - Sophia and John were the parents of Charles PARKER - father of Laura Elizabeth PARKER WOOD - mother of Kirt DeMar WOOD my father.

Isaac ENSIGN Sr. was the father in-law of - Mormon Pioneer Mary Everett GORDON ENSIGN was the wife of Samuel ENSIGN who was the brother of my grandfather Horace Datus ENSIGN. (Horace and there brother Isaac along with Isaac's wife Mary BRYANT ENSIGN all died at Winter Quarters.) Horace's wife Mary BRONSON ENSIGN and most of their children traveled on to Utah in the same wagon train as Mary and Samuel ENSIGN.

Although Mary's husband Samuel ENSIGN was a younger brother, he became the patriarch of the Ensign family in Utah. Samuel was a skilled carpenter and a respected pioneer. He died when he fell from a wall being constructed on Salt Lake Temple.
