After joining the LDS church in England and William age 55 and Susannah INGRAM age 32 sailed from Liverpool on the Yorkshire, arriving in New Orleans, Louisiana on 10 May 1843. They traveled with 4 children. #57 Elliza age 13, #58 Richard age 6, #59 Fanny 11 months, and #60 Jane age 4.

Also on board were possible relatives of Susannah (GRIFFITHS) INGRAM #53 William GRIFFITHS age 55 (blacksmith) and # 54 James GRIFFITHS age 16 (whitesmith) .

William INGRAM and Susannah GRIFFITHS both died of infectious disease near St. Louis, MO in 1844. Their orphaned children Richard, (Sarah) Jane and Fanny (Frances Ann) were taken in by Susannah's brother Richard Griffiths and his wife Mary. They went on to Nauvoo, IL, and later to Utah. Mary Griffiths died along the Mormon Trail. The fate of #57 Elliza age 13 is unknown.
