Lincoln Cathedral, Westminster Abby, Canterbury Cathedral, Notre Dame - Relative Burial Place


Lincoln Cathedral, also called Lincoln Minster and formally the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, is a church of England located in Lincoln. England. 


Joan de Beaufort countess of Westmorland (c. 1377 – 13 November 1440) (15th Great Grandmother) was daughter of John Guant 1st Duke of Lancaster son of Edward III king of England. She was buried next to her mother Katherine Swynford who died on 10 May 1403 at Lincoln (15th Great Grandmother). They were buried at Lincoln Cathedral in the choir of angels.

Katherine's tomb, the larger tomb, next to the tomb of her daughter, Joan Beaufort.

Note: Decsended from Edward III and Philippa eighteen times, by four of their sons. They are our 17th to 22nd great grandparents.  Son Lionel of Antwerp grandfather four times, John of Gaunt grandfather nine times, Edmund of Langley grandfather once, and Thomas of Woodstock grandfather four times.  Both Paternal and Maternal lines go back to Edward and Philippa.  

Thomas of Woodstock 1st Duke of Gloucester 1355-1397 (18th Great Grandfather). Thomas was was youngest son of Edward III King of England and his wife Philippa Hainault. Thomas was muredered by Thomas de Mowray 1st Duke of Norfolk and the knight Sir Nicolas Colfox. He was buried in Westminster Abbey, first in the Chapel of Saint Edmund and Saint Thomas in October 1397, and two years later reburied in the Chapel of Saint Edward the Confessor. His wife Eleanor (Aleanore) de Bohun 1366-1399 (18th Great Grandfather) was buried next to him.


Catherine of Valois 1401-1437 Queen consort of Henry V (15th Great Grandmother) [Related by her second husband Sir Owen Tudor (15th Great Grandfather)Catherine died shortly after childbirth in London and was "buried in the old Lady Chapel" of Westminster Abbey.


Cardinal Henry Beaufort c. 1375 – 11 April 1447 (17th Great Grandmother) catholic Bishop of Linclon (1398), Bishop of Winchester (1404) and Cardinal (1426). He served three times as Lord Chancellor. Henry Beaufort was a son of John Gaunt and half brother of King Henry IV.He had an illegitimate daughter, Jane Beaufort (16th Great Grandmother). Cardinal Henry Beaufort was present for some of the Joan of Arc trials. Legend has says he wept as he viewed the horrible scene as she was burned at the stake.

(17th Great Grandmother) Margaret De Holland, Countess of Somerset, Countencen of Somerset. Daughter of Thomas Holland, 2nd Earl of Kent, who was the son of Joan "the Fair Maid of Kent" (granddaughter of Edward I of England, wife of Edward the Black Prince and mother of Richard II of England).
