  1. No such person as Margaret Mary Froman! Jacob Froman Jr. wife was Mary last name unknown.

You have combine Mary (last name unknown) and Margaret Dawson. There is a picture that was posted in 2008 of Mary Froman’s grave in Gum Cemetery, Knox County, IL the caption states "Mary Margaret Froman". That user is now inactive, so there is no way to correct it for now. Only one person said anything about the error at the time it was made, but no one listen to him. Left uncheck, this became the genesis of the fake name of Mary Margaret Dawson, which many people still use. What people did not realize at that time was that there were two Jacob Froman, one was the son Jacob Froman Sr and one was the son of his brother Paul Froman Jr. Once again, if there are two Jacob Froman, there must be two wives. Jacob Froman (son Paul), is listed on deed and property records as just Jacob. Jacob (son of Paul) is the one that marries Margaret Dawson in Nelson County in 1794. Many of Paul Jr's descendant move to Switzerland County and adjacent Dearborn County, Indiana after his death in 1799. I found several pieces of proof to show that Jacob son of Paul is the one that married Margaret Dawson, and that they are the ones that moved to Dearborn County, Indiana by at least 1805. Jacob Froman (son of Paul) is listed in the 1807 Indiana Census - Dearborn County, and he is listed on several land records as living in Dearborn, Indiana. His will was written in 1826 and probated in 1827; in it he lists his wife as Margaret. Three of children were also married in Dearborn County, Indiana, they buy several acres of land in Vermilion County, IL in 1828 (Bureau of Land Management Records). Margaret Dawson moves with them to Vermilion County and appears as the head of household in the 1830 and 1840 Vermilion County, IL census. After her death many of her children move to Oregon via the Oregon Trail in 1851. What supports this information? Her youngest son David who is mention in the 1827 will of his father in Dearborn County, IN, had has a very detailed first person bio sketch in a book on settlers in Oregon, in it he states when his father dies when he was 5, which matches the dates of the will and their movement to Vermilion County Illinois, after his father's death, and the movement to Oregon. It also states that his mother dies in 1848. That line also used the name Dawson. This is 13 years after the date of death on the picture of the grave of Mary Froman. Additionally, people have tried to move the place of burial from Gum Cemetery, Knox, IL to Gumm Cemetery, Vermilion, IL; another fake location/cemetery. People not only combined the names of Mary and Margaret, and confused the two Jacobs, they combined the children of both in to one large single family.

  2. Jacob Froman Jr (son of Jacob) vs Jacob Froman (son of Paul)
Jacob Froman (son of Paul/husband of Margaret) is living in Indiana by 1805, while Jacob Froman Jr is listed in the 1810 census for Bullitt County, KY. I want to emphasize that these records use "Jr" and they are after Jacob Froman (son of Paul) has left the state. So, Jacob Froman Jr. is listed on three administrative bonds, in Bullitt County, KY and on two separate marriage bonds as a bondsman as "Jacob Froman Jr", Jacob Froman Jr. also pays taxes in 1807, 1808, 1809, so there is several pieces of evidences that have Jacob Froman Jr. in Kentucky after the 1805 departure of Jacob Froman (son of Paul). Also, Jacob Froman Jr's brothers Absalom and Isaac are also in Bullitt County, KY. Jacob Froman Sr, had land holdings on the Salt River in Bullitt County going back to 1780s/1790s. Jacob Froman Sr paid taxes in Woodford County, Kentucky (where he was running a saw and flour mills and had Iron works), the tax records show him having property in several different counties, with Bullitt and Hardin being two of them. Jacob Froman Jr's brother Abraham is living in Hardin Co KY, but he is listed as running a ferry business, flour, and saw mill on Salt River in Bullitt County, called Pitts Point which he bought from his father in 1805.
Jacob Froman Jr moves to Indiana by 1817 and appears in the 1820 census in Crawford County, Indiana. Jacob Jr. is listed on several dozen documents in Crawford County as "Jr". At the same time Jacob Froman son of Paul is in Dearborn County, Indiana. They're in two different counties with one with 10 in household and other with 8 in the household. Just more proof of the two Jacob Fromans, and thus the two wives. So, Jacob Froman Jr is listed again in the 1830 Census Records of Crawford County, Indiana. After that time, he moves to with wife Mary to IL and Mary dies there in 1835, she is buried in the Knox County, IL in the Gum Cemetery (the photo which has been label Mary Margaret Froman). How do know that this is the Jacob Froman Jr who lived in Crawford County is the one in the 1840 Warren County, IL census. After Mary's death Jacob Froman marries the widow Mrs. Martha Fugua (nee Reynolds), Feb, 24, 1838 in Knox County, IL. Warren County, IL and Knox County, IL are adjacent counties and Martha is also buried in the Gum Cemetery after her death. Jacob Froman Jr. dies without a will, and son-in-law John J Miles and son Greenberry Froman are made the administrators of his estate. John Miles married Sarah Froman (1800-1855) in Crawford County, Indiana 1 Jan 1824, she dies in Warren County, IL in 1855. I found two pieces documentation that shows Greenberry Froman and John Miles as the Administrators; and we have the tie back to Crawford County with John Miles and Sarah Froman marriage.
